Here are some easy but effective teeth whitening tricks that would save you elaborate visits to the dentist to get a beaming smile.
A million dollar smile is something that we all crave for. But can all of us pay as much? From using whitening strips to teeth bleaching, there are a number of teeth whitening methods. But what if we knew of some easy teeth whitening tricks that could be followed at home and also save us time and the effort of visiting a dentist?

Time For Some Crunchy Food

It is a known fact that eating right is the best way to stay healthy and this reflects in our looks as well. This is how food helps us internally by giving us the right nutrients. But did you know that there are certain natural foods that help us keep our teeth white?
Crunchy fruits and vegetables like apples, celery, carrots, raw spinach, cucumbers and broccoli remove tartar and plaque from teeth and help our teeth retain their white shine.

Sip and Swish

Coffee tastes great and gives that instant kick we need. But the flip side avid coffee drinkers have to live with is stained teeth. Brushing after drinking tea, coffee or other beverages is the suggested way of fighting the stains. But that's not possible every time.
One easy way to get rid of those stains is to take a mouthful of water and swish it around in your mouth. Do this as soon as you drink this beverage. This will prevent the staining film of the drink from settling over your teeth.

Love Gum? Good News

For those who love chewing gum, there is good news. Pop in a gum after every meal for white teeth. However, the catch is that it has to be sugarless gum. Also if you are thinking that you can bid farewell to your toothpaste by using gum, then you are greatly mistaken. Chewing gum should never substitute brushing teeth with one's regular toothpaste.

Dip That Straw For White Teeth

How? Simple. There is something called a straw - a thin pipe, one end of which you need to dip in the can of soft drink and suck the drink through the other end.
Using a straw reduces the area of teeth that comes in contact with the drink. Those who love to savor the taste, have to keep in mind of not swishing the drink around inside your mouth. If not, then it is as good as you didn't use the straw.
Ready to give a little more time to other tricks? There are quite a few natural ways and remedies to keep the teeth clean and gleaming. Here are some more options for whitening teeth at home:

Baking Soda and Salt

Mix 1 teaspoon of baking soda, with a pinch of salt. Add a few drops of vinegar to it to make a paste. Foam up the mixture a little and then brush your teeth with it. Follow this remedy after brushing teeth with your normal toothpaste.

Baking Soda and Hydrogen Peroxide

Dilute hydrogen peroxide with an equal amount of water. Add some baking soda to it. Now brush your teeth with the paste. There is no need to follow this treatment without brushing your teeth with the regular toothpaste.

Lemon Juice Paste

Calcium is important for strong teeth as it strengthens your teeth from inside, but calcium deposits on teeth can leave yellow stains. To get rid of calcium deposits, make a paste of equal amounts of salt and lemon juice and brush your teeth with it.

Strawberries

Besides the taste, strawberries also have whitening agents in them. You can benefit from the whitening properties of the fruit by rubbing some strawberries to your teeth.
However, brush your teeth after this, to prevent your teeth from suffering from the adverse effects of acids and sugars in the fruit.

Basal Leaves

Stains from teeth can be easily removed by rubbing a mixture made from equal amounts of dry orange rind and dry basal leaves. One could also rub the inner surface of orange rind to get white, shiny teeth.
