Summer heralds joy and merriment. Here's presenting you the important tips to enjoy the season safely. Read the guidelines below to ensure safety of your kids and yourself.
In some countries, the winter season is so chilly that people anxiously wait for the summer. For them, it's a season of joy. It's a season that calls for adventure and water sports. In the midst of such enthusiasm, we oft tend to be oblivious to the safety concerns.
Carelessness becomes the main reason behind unforeseen dangers. You need to consider certain measures while enjoying with your kids, either indoors or outdoors.

Important Measures

Outdoor

If you plan to go out on a bike ride, it is advisable that you wear a helmet. While performing sports like skating, skateboarding, or scooter riding, wear gear which will help you prevent injuries. Be careful while water skiing. Be well equipped with safety gadgets before trying games like horse riding and polo.

Water

During this season, water parks are crowded with families and kids enjoying the various activities that these parks offer. Supervise your child while swimming to avoid tragedies. If your child has recently learned swimming, ensure your indoor swimming pool is equipped with pool barriers and pool alarms. Wearing life jackets before accessing water cruises and rides is a must.

Health

In some countries, summers are so scorching, that it takes a toll on the health. Drink plenty of water to prevent a heat stroke since they cause severe headache and fever. Conditions worsen if you suffer from heat allergies and diarrhea.
For this, you need to be extremely careful about your food habits. Avoid rich and spicy food. Increase the intake of salads, citrus, and water-rich fruits, like oranges, watermelons, etc. Drink fresh lime juice frequently to keep your body cool. Avoid strenuous exercises during this season as it can cause dehydration.

Personal Hygiene

Personal hygiene is extremely important in the summer season. People who sweat too much should be careful during this time of the year. Take a bath at least twice a day. If you suffer from body odor, just sprinkle a few drops of cologne in the water while bathing.
Keep your clothes clean and wear light fabrics to reflect the heat. Dab a good quality perfume before stepping out. Stay hydrated to avoid sweating bouts.

Sun Protection

This season is the ideal time to bask at the beach. Tanning during the early mornings helps in synthesis of vitamin D. But uneven tans render the complexion dull and dusky. To avoid a sunburn, apply a good quality sunscreen with minimum SPF 30.
Carry an umbrella while stepping out in the heat. Glares are in vogue during summer and also protect your eyes from the sun. Sunscreens for kids are also available at cosmetics stores. Apply the cream on your children before they go out to play games.
