Have you ever been to the hospital, where the doctor measured your temperature in a measuring system you are not comfortable with? This has happened to a number of people, for there are different measuring systems used in different parts of the world.

Temperature Conversion Formulas

Converting Celsius to Fahrenheit

(Temperature in °C × 9/5) + 32 = Temperature in °F

We will take an example to understand this better. We will convert 28° C to Fahrenheit.

28° C × 9/5 = 50.4
50.4 + 32 = 82.4° F

Converting Fahrenheit to Celsius

(Temperature in °F - 32) x 5/9 = Temperature in °C

To understand the formula better, we will convert 86°F to Celsius.

85°F - 32 = 53
53 x 5/9 = 30°C

Although we know the formula, we may not be patient to actually convert the human body temperature from Celsius to Fahrenheit and vice versa. This is when having the temperature conversion chart handy proves to be of great use.

The normal body temperature is 37° Celsius, which is 98.6° Fahrenheit. Therefore, when a person has fever his body temperature will naturally be higher than 38° Celsius or 100.4° Fahrenheit.
It is advisable not to neglect the condition, if the body temperature of a person is constantly at 39° Celsius or 102° Fahrenheit for a couple of days. However, in case of children, even a small increase in temperature should be monitored at regular intervals.
If you have a child at home, it is best to have the temperature conversion chart handy. If your loved one is suffering from fever, then there are two timings when you will certainly want to monitor the fever, i.e. at 4 p.m., when the temperature is the highest and at 4 a.m., when the temperature is the lowest.
Last but the most important point to remember is to make sure your thermometer is giving you the right readings. Some of the thermometers come with digital readouts, therefore you will have to read the user manual carefully to know after which beep is one to read the thermometer.
